The Future

As part of our connection to Culture, we have looked to Nature for guidance. The aspen tree has been our model for how we have grown. What may look like a grove of individual trees is often one living organism, all connected through a shared root system. A single tree sends out roots underground, which eventually sprout new trees. Each of these individual trees stand on their own, but are deeply connected to the original source.

In 1988, White Bison was the only tree in its grove. Over time, new programs and initiatives have grown from the spiritual roots of the Wellbriety Principles, Laws, and Values. Each of these has become its own tree, including the Wellbriety Movement, Wellbriety for Prisons, the Wellbriety Store, the Wellbriety Training Institute, and now Well-Anon. Though they stand separate, they remain connected to the same roots that gave them life.

As of now, Well-Anon is in a growing phase, relying upon White Bison still to flourish. Soon though, Well-Anon will be turned over to become its own fully fledged tree, with its own Board of Directors, Executive Director, headquarters, staff, and organizational structure.
